MPG Almas de Bambu: The Case that Demands Commitment and Forged the Conscious Maintenance Protocol
The story of how one of the most aesthetically daring projects we have ever executed forced us to face the truth: high performance is only complete when the client becomes our partner in the maintenance journey.

Facade brise-soleil in an outdoor area using the "Almas de Bambu" cladding.
The Core Challenge
How to execute a facade with a cladding of extremely high aesthetic value ("Almas de Bambu"), but extremely delicate and maintenance-intensive in an outdoor area, without generating future regret for the client and a risk to the brand's reputation?

The Battle Against Future Regret
The starting point was a vision: a facade that breathed, that was both imposing and organic. The architect's choice, the "Almas de Bambu", was aesthetically perfect. But it held a secret: by exposing the internal, fibrous part of the bamboo, with its multiple horizontal diaphragms, its application in outdoor areas is an open invitation to the effects of time and the accumulation of dirt. Our dilemma was not technical, it was ethical. Could we simply execute the order and let the client discover the hard way that such beauty demands an almost obsessive maintenance commitment? Or should we risk the project to fight the most important battle: that of awareness?

The Triad of Engineering, Resolution and Aesthetics
To transform this vision into a long-term sustainable reality, applying our existing protocols was not enough. The solution was to create a new layer of process engineering, focused on solving the problem of expectation alignment and enabling the production of such a complex material.
Solução 1
The Conscious Maintenance Protocol — The Resolution of Future Pain
Before cutting the first culm, we sat down with the client and the specifier. We mapped out the cleaning cycles (biannual/annual), the products to be used and, crucially, the necessary infrastructure in the building to allow maintenance to be carried out safely and efficiently. The sale was only sealed when the client's "yes" came with full awareness of their responsibilities. We transformed a transaction into a pact.
Solução 2
Pre-Production Engineering and Secure Logistics
To ensure performance, the entire process of cutting, calibration, and drilling of the "almas" had to be done before autoclave treatment. We developed a "Pre-Autoclave" production line and a Secure Bundling System, which allowed the material to be sent to and returned from the treatment plant without human contact, eliminating risks and ensuring the integrity of each delicate piece.
The Undeniable Proof
The Results
The success of this project was not measured in a testimonial, but in transforming an ethical challenge into one of our business's most important assets: the proof that radical transparency and process engineering are the foundation for long-term satisfaction.
Outcome Indicators
| Indicator | Result Achieved |
|---|---|
| Strategic Validation | Creation of the "Conscious Maintenance Protocol", a tool that qualifies the client and protects the investment. |
| Process Innovation | Development of the "Pre-Autoclave" Methodology and "Secure Bundling", making the treatment of any bamboo piece feasible. |
| Risk Mitigation | Consolidation of a system that ensures expectation alignment, eliminating the main cause of dissatisfaction in projects with natural materials. |
Field Intelligence
What We Learned
The MPG case was a rite of passage. It taught us that our work does not end with project delivery and generated fundamental lessons:
The Most Important Sale is the One You Almost Don't Make: We learned that saying "no" or imposing strict conditions (such as accepting the maintenance protocol) does not deter the right client; it qualifies them. The true sale is not of the product, but of trust and transparency, which prevents "buyer's remorse".
The Process Must Serve the Material, Not the Other Way Around: The need to treat the "Almas de Bambu" in an autoclave forced the creation of the "Pre-Autoclave" Methodology. This taught us that for complex materials, the entire production line needs to be redesigned to respect the treatment requirements, ensuring maximum performance.
"Execution Peace" Includes "Maintenance Peace": This project expanded our concept of "Execution Peace". It does not end on the day of delivery. True peace of mind for the client and the specifier is only achieved when the long-term maintenance plan is already integrated into the project from conception.
