It is customized equipment that receives pre-processed bamboo poles and, through a system of high-precision saws and feeders, transforms them into thousands of standardized taliscas in a fraction of the time of the manual process. Yes, and this was the project's greatest triumph. The Gap Between the Unique Piece and the Production Line Product

The Ninho Lamp was born as a work of art. Its original production was an act of pure artisanal mastery: each of the thousands of thin bamboo strips was manually extracted with a knife, a process that could take up to 90 days to complete a single piece. It was beautiful, but unfeasible to scale. Studio Objeto presented us with an engineering challenge disguised as a production request: how could we honor Arthur Casas's vision and, at the same time, create a system that would make Ninho a replicable product, durable for outdoor areas, and with an acceptable lead time for the luxury design market?

Our answer was to embrace the core philosophy of the BOV Method: where technology does not exist, we create it. To solve the artisanal bottleneck problem, we applied process engineering to optimize repetitive tasks, freeing the master artisan to focus on what ensures the unique aesthetic of the piece.

After verifying that no machine on the market could produce the strips with the necessary precision, we decided to design and build our own equipment. We developed a customized machine, with thin saws and feed mechanisms, capable of mechanically producing the thousands of strips that previously depended on months of manual labor.

The "machining" solved the raw material bottleneck, but the final test revealed a crucial truth: the soul of the Ninho was not in the strips, but in how they were woven. Assembly remained a 100% artisanal act. The solution was a hybrid system: we engineered and optimized everything repetitive to free up our artisan's time to focus on what no machine can do: bring the piece to life with sensitivity and manual skill.
